William Steven Smith (Steve-O), 64, of Red River, New Mexico passed away on July 28th, 2020.
He was born on March 17, 1956 to Sue Walters Smith and Wayne Smith in Dallas, TX. Steve-O graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, TX and received his degree in Finance from Southwest Texas State University.
His humble beginnings in the mid 1970s consisted of summer visits to Red River where he later became owner of Jeep Trailways and brought to town the surrey cycles we are all too familiar with. He was an avid skier and ski instructor during the winters. He went on to obtain a real estate and qualifying brokerage license and successfully owned and operated Resort Realty for over 20 years. He met the love of his life, Diane, in 2001 and they were later married.
Steve-O was a lifelong Kentucky Derby fan and a beer connoisseur. He sold numerous homes to many amazing families and was known and loved by everyone. Neither St. Patrick’s Day nor the Kentucky Derby will ever be the same without him.
Steve-O is survived by his wife Diane, his stepchildren Amanda and Casey, as well as his daughter-in-law Stephanie and grandchildren Ryland, Camden, and Bryndlee. Additionally, he is survived by his daughter Alexandra, cousin Kathy, brother Doug, and nephew Gibson as well as many other family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Sue and Wayne, along with his beloved four-legged best friend Duke.
A celebration of his life will be held on August 29, 2020 at 11am with details to follow.
