Jan Moore Lewis passed from this life on August 13, 2017, in Taos, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J and Mary L Moore and two Sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Lester E Lewis of Red River, New Mexico; Sisters, Joan Pilgram, husband, Dick and family; Patricia Flaker and Family; and Sharon Foster and family of Keller, Texas. Surviving children are Laura Lewis Smith and husband Joe Smith of Rockett, Texas; granddaughters Jennifer Smith and Allison Smith of Ferris, Texas, and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her son, Bret Lewis and wife, Ruth and family of Red River, New Mexico.
Lester and Jan married in 1955, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. They moved to Red River, New Mexico in 1935, where Lester was instrumental in development of roads through the passes and in city government, and in shaping Red River into the ski and tourist destination that it is today.
